I really wasn’t sure the Uber driver would get there. “I’ve been driving 12 years and I’ve never been to this restaurant,” she cheerfully noted as she pulled up in front of a very secure closed gate.
Around the corner, down a small road, the vista opened up to a wide semi-circular drive leading to an historic two-story mansion housing the remarkable Saint Claire restaurant. As they say, “over the river and to the oaks”.
A daily menu entranced with special delights. The vibe was “at home” with charmingly miss-matched silver and porcelain plates offering a new look with every dish. Classics mingled with innovation as we enjoyed duck confit, gumbo, and a memorable caramelized shallot tarte tartin. Combined with impeccable and friendly service, truly a journey worth making!
